Important Update
Earlier this year charges to clear skin care products through the border on goods coming into Canada from the U.S increased dramatically.
In prior years, a minimum fee of approximately $18 was charged to clear a package through the border. In 2023 that charge, without notice, escalated to $90. As a result, we are unable to ship orders to Canada until a financially feasible solution is worked out.
Here’s why: In the past evanhealy absorbed the $18 cost of clearing the package through the border. For instance, if an order was $100, we’d ship for free covering the $20 border clearance as well as the mailing/freight charge. We saw this as a manageable cost of servicing our Canadian customers. If an order was less than $50, we’d charge our customers $20 to help offset the combined border clearance fee and mailing/freight charge. Now that the cost is $90 to simply clear the border (shipping is on top of that), it is no longer feasible to absorb that cost. Or to pass that cost on to our customers.
Here’s what we’re doing: We are working with a company in Canada who will manage our Canadian customers – residents of Canada who place orders on evanhealy.com. That way we will house evanhealy products in Canada avoiding the cost of clearing small packages through the border. We are working diligently to get up and running as early as September 1st. In this way we will be able to service Canadian residents efficiently. Even allowing us to ship orders under $100 at a reasonable rate. We will update you with more details later in the summer.
